Aaron Hayes

With a fond love of timber framing and carpentry, as well a strong work ethic passed to him from his Dad, who exposed him to commercial construction from a young age Aaron sees the industry with eyes full of excitement.

He left for college at University of North Florida the summer after graduating high school, eager to carve his own way,  where he examined career paths and educational curriculum from philosophy to biology to criminal justice.

Feeling disenchanted with academia he decided he was going to drop out to become a timber farmer, gallivanting  a crossed  the world working on the most beautiful jobs known to man. Putting his hands to good use and loving what he does.

After considering some sage advise from multiple sources he thought to give the yet unconsidered engineering curriculum a try.  After all it would make him a better timber framer. He claimed his Associates degree, forgot his passed major and transferred to the Civil Engineering program at University of Central Florida

He fell right in, and in love, the rest is history.

After Graduating from University of Central Florida with a Bachelor in Civil engineering he went to work at Structural Wood Systems, as fast as one can walk out of graduation and into an office in another state, as their preliminary engineer where he worked on a vast array of custom glulam projects.

His favorite are churches (mainly for architectural reasons) and horse barns/ rodeo arenas, but finds joy in all projects involving wood. They say you enjoy what your good at don’t they?

Looking to move back to Florida and be closer to his Family, Aaron noticed Fire Tower Engineered Timber was hiring. At first he decided not to apply, the office was completely out the way he was heading (physically), even if he thought it was exactly what he was looking for career wise.

Well we all know how Friday nights go and decisions are made and our boy Aaron sent in his application.

Shortly after, the deal was struck and the bargain made. He works for Us, and we’re keeping him!

When not working for us, he is likely playing with his dogs, riding behind one of them on a skate board, quail hunting given the season, shooting clays, riding through state forests or wet lands, doing something with wood, or quite possibly and more likely comfortably asleep with the smile only the satisfaction of a job well done can bring.
