Timm was born and raised in Germany, where he studied Civil Engineering and graduated from RWTH Aachen University with a Master’s Degree in 2004. He then moved to Calgary, Canada, where in 2006, he received a Master of Science from the University of Calgary.

After a few years of working for different consulting firms and gaining experience in various fields of structural engineering, Timm decided to start his own consulting firm in 2014. While that was challenging and rewarding at times, after more than 9 years it was time for a change. So, in 2023, Timm joined Fire Tower Engineered Timber and moved with his family from British Columbia, Canada to Florida.

Throughout his career as a structural engineer, Timm always had a passion for wood and timber design. Joining Fire Tower has given him the wonderful opportunity to focus more on the structural engineering work that he enjoys.

In his free time, Timm loves to spend quality time with his family and learn new ideas about life, health and wellbeing. He is also a professional music producer, loves to spend time outdoors, and enjoys landscape photography with his DSLR.
